Delete your Expento account
You can permanently remove your Expento account and the data we hold about you at any time. There are two ways to do it — pick whichever is easier.
In the app
Open Expento on your phone or in the browser, then go to:
Settings → DANGER ZONE → Delete my account
You will be asked to type the word DELETE as a confirmation. The deletion runs immediately. Your session ends and you are returned to the sign-in screen.
By email
If you no longer have access to the account (lost phone, forgotten password, etc.) send an email from your registered address to:
admin@aladdin-technologies.comSubject: Delete my Expento account. We confirm ownership and complete the deletion within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email when it’s done.
What gets deleted
Deletion is permanent. The following data is removed from our systems immediately on confirmation:
- ✓Every expense row and receipt attachment in your account
- ✓Receipt files stored in our Expento-hosted bucket (when you chose hosted storage at signup)
- ✓Your custom categories and sub-categories
- ✓Your Google connection and stored Drive refresh tokens (when you chose Google Drive at signup)
- ✓Your storage backend choice, language preference, and display currency
- ✓Your sign-in identity (email, password hash, Google account link)
What we keep, anonymised
A small number of records remain in our systems but no longer point back to you:
- ·The shared AI extraction cache. We store one entry per unique image hash so the same receipt is never re-extracted; the entry is not linked to a user. Removing it would force other users to re-pay for extraction of receipts they have nothing to do with.
- ·Super-admin audit logs of any administrative actions taken on your account (with your account id removed). Retained for regulatory and security auditing.
If you used Google Drive storage
Receipts you saved to your own Google Drive folder are notdeleted by Expento when you delete your account — those files belong to you and live in your own Google account. Open Drive, find the/Expento folder, and delete it yourself if you want a clean slate. We also revoke our access to your Drive at the moment of account deletion, so we cannot reach those files even if we wanted to.
Backups and unrecoverability
Our infrastructure provider (Supabase) maintains point-in-time recovery backups for up to 7 days. After that window, the deleted data is unrecoverable, even by us. If you change your mind within those 7 days, write to admin@aladdin-technologies.com — we cannot restore individual accounts from the operational system, but we may be able to help if the backup window has not rolled past.
For the full description of how we store, use, and protect your data while your account is active, see our Privacy Policy.
